Silverfish

Identification: Silverfish are about 1/2 - 3/4" long with a teardrop/carrot shaped body. They are a silvery/grayish color with 3 long bristle like appendages extending from their posterior end.

Habits: Silverfish prefer warm and humid areas to habitat. They can be found living in tight cracks and crevices throughout a structure. Silverfish usually hide during the day and are active at night. They will travel great distances in search of food. Silverfish will feed on mold and other protein and starch based materials such as cereals, paper, flour and wallpaper.

Control: The best way to control silverfish is a thorough outside treatment with a light hand spraying of key indoor areas. Monroe Pest Control Co., Inc. will eliminate your silverfish infestation in one visit and we warranty our work.
