Hobart Resident inducted into the Indiana Pest Control Association Hall of Fame

David D. Wilson, a former second-generation owner of the long-running Monroe Pest Control in Hobart, has been inducted into the Indiana Pest Management Association Hall of Fame.

He was enshrined in the Hall of Fame at an annual luncheon at the Purdue Memorial Union in West Lafayette for the Indiana Pest Management Association, a nonprofit that promotes education and training in the pest control industry across the Hoosier state.

The lifelong resident of Hobart previously ran Monroe Pest Control at 3220 W. Old Ridge Road in Hobart for years. The company that was founded by his father has removed bugs, rodents and other pests across Northwest Indiana and south suburban Chicago since 1929.

Serving both commercial and residential properties in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties, Monroe Pest Control treats for termites, mosquitoes, wasps, mice, moles, hornets, roaches and bedbugs.

Wilson retired from the company in 2000. His children David N. Wilson and Kelly Tichacek now own and operate the third-generation family-owned business, which remains in Hobart.
